A small church, most likely a castral chapel, existed in the 12th century. In 1845, it was planned to remodel the church because it was so small and the bell tower was in danger of falling into ruin. This was demolished, along with the old choir. A larger choir was rebuilt and a new bell tower was added to the entrance portal. The central nave, dating from the 17th century, remains in place. An inscription on the exterior recalls the occurrence of an earthquake in 1682. The building has a Latin cross floor plan and comprises a nave with a single panelled nave, a tower-porch crowned with a polygonal slate roof, a transept with a rib-vaulted crossing and panelled arms, and a choir comprising a straight bay and a three-sided apse covered with a six-quarter rib vault.
