Eglise Saint-Nicolas de Troischamps

Eglise Saint-Nicolas de Troischamps

  • photo

Saint-Nicolas church was built in 1162, then rebuilt in 1780, with the exception of the choir, which does not appear to have been included in the reconstruction as it retains some features from the medieval period. In particular, it has a 7 m long barrel vault, without a double arch, and ends in a blind flat chevet. The nave appears to have been enlarged by rebuilding the façade, the bell tower and the two adjoining chapels in the first half of the 19th century. It is preceded by a bell tower-porch crowned by an imperial slate roof. Its base is flanked by a secondary chapel to the south and the stairwell on the other side.

The church is not open in autumn and winter. Keys available from the Mairie.
