It was built in the 12th century, but was altered over the following centuries.

The oldest parts are the bell tower and the forechoir. The church is particularly interesting for its furnishings, its 16th-century funerary slabs or tombstones and its imposing baptistery, also dating from the 16th century and listed as a historic monument.
