Eglise Saint-Hilaire de Noyers

Eglise Saint-Hilaire de Noyers

The church at Noyers, and in particular its choir and sacristy, was partly rebuilt in the 19th century using rubble extracted from the quarry known as derrière la tanière in the Buxières-les-Clefmont area and ashlar from Esnouveaux and Chevillon. Elongated in plan, the church has a single nave with 18th-century panelling, preceded by a tower-porch crowned by a pavilion roof covered in slate. Its bell tower dates from the first quarter of the 19th century (one bell is dated 1820). It also has a spiral staircase located in the corner formed by the tower-porch and the nave, on the north side. The choir has two straight bays with ribbed vaults and a flat apse.
