The choir of the church of Saint-Evre in Buxières-les-Clefmont dates from the 12th century and ends in a flat chevet. The first bay of the choir, which once supported the bell tower, has an original window in the north wall and a door in the south wall that would have led to the adjoining presbytery. The nave, which dates from the 13th century, has two arches that suggest the construction of an aborted transept. With a single nave of three bays, the nave is preceded by a tower-porch crowned by a polygonal slate-roofed spire. The south wall of the second bay features an 11th-century portal. A major restoration and conversion campaign took place in the third quarter of the 19th century. The original plan was to rebuild the nave using elements (capitals and ogives) from the old building, but the work threatened to ruin the bell tower, which stood on the first bay of the choir. The architect deemed it necessary to dismantle the tower and rebuild it on the façade in a new bay (a stone bears the date 1855 at the top of the façade).
