The church dates mainly from the 2nd quarter of the 19th century and the 4th quarter of the 19th century.
Parish of Saint Pierre Saint Paul - Deanery of Châteauvillain - Diocese of Langres
The church at Orges was the seat of a curacy or priory-cure in the possession of the Knights of Malta and appointed by the Grand Prior of Champagne.
It is a neo-classical building built under the direction of Chaumont architect Antoine Chaussier according to an estimate drawn up in June 1832.
The old church had been deemed too dilapidated to be restored, and Chaussier preferred to rebuild it entirely, but in a different location.
While the work was being carried out, the old nave was used for services and the choir was demolished to serve as fill for the new building.
In July 1881, the architect Catherinet drew up plans for a peristyle on the west portal and the same architect drew up a project for a spire on the bell tower in August 1894.
