In the 18th century, Notre-Dame-de-l'Immaculée-Conception church in Vaux-sous-Aubigny was simply a chapel belonging to Aubigny. In 1862, the architect Charles Godard drew up plans to rebuild the chapel, pointing out that the inhabitants had already had the choir re-edited in 1855 thanks to a subscription and that they could now rebuild the rest thanks to the proceeds of an extraordinary tax, a government grant and the sale of communal land through which the railway line from Langres to Dijon was to run. The new church was consecrated in 1866 by the Bishop of Langres, Mgr Guerrin.
