The old church in Bourg was dedicated to Saint-Hilaire. The new church was rebuilt in the neo-Gothic style in the centre of the village in 1894. It was dedicated to Notre-Dame de l'Immaculée Conception in memory of a brotherhood in honour of Notre-Dame-de-la-Conception that had been based in the parish since 1393. A foundation stone (the base of the western portal) bears the date 1894 and a second stone sealed above the sacristy door states that the new building was erected at the expense of Jean-Baptiste Hudelet and Marguerite Constant, his wife, in memory of François and Auguste Constant for the substantial sum of 100,000 francs.
