The church at Verseilles-le-Haut was a branch of Flagey and then, around 1630, it was made a parish church by appointment of the Bishop of Langres. Since the 12th century, most of the seigneury had belonged to the Bishop of Langres. The choir of the Church of the Assumption of Our Lady may date from the 13th century, but was modified in the 18th century. It is difficult to determine when the nave was built: it may be contemporary with the choir (two tombstones are dated 1531 and 1788), but its windows were rebuilt in the 18th or 19th century. The lintel of the western portal of the bell tower bears the date 1821 (this must be either a restoration of the tower or of the building) and the date 1556, i.e. the date of its construction.
