Eglise Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption de Marddor

Eglise Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption de Marddor

Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption church dates back to the 13th century, but it was ruined on 9 September 1872 by a violent fire that reduced the choir and nave frames to ashes. In 1874, work began to build a tower-porch and straighten the upper part of the nave and choir walls. The elongated building has a single nave with two bays, a tower-porch crowned by a polygonal slate-roofed spire, and a two-bay choir ending in a flat chevet with a triplet.
