Brethenay church has a single nave, 4 bays long, followed by a choir bay. The nave and choir date from the 13th century. The last two bays of the nave open onto two chapels to the south, which can be dated to the end of the 15th century. The bell tower (also 15th century) stands on the western chapel. The choir was painted in the 19th century.
