The church of Belmont was built in place of the abbey church of the abbey, located in the former parish of Bussières. After the French Revolution, it became a branch of Bussières for the use of the inhabitants of Belmont, and in 1843 it was given curial status. Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption church was rebuilt in 1742 and extended in the 19th century: two bays were added in 1836, and the bell tower and porch in 1865.
