Sommeville church dates back to the 2nd half of the 12th century. This is particularly true of the crossing span, which originally supported the bell tower. The choir bay dates from the early 13th century, and features later features such as the vaulting and the shapes of the capitals. The first choir bay is covered by a broken barrel vault. There is also a chapel to the north of the crossing, probably built in the Middle Ages. The rest of the building (central nave and its 2 side aisles, bell tower-porch and adjacent chapels) was rebuilt in 1840. The nave is covered by a panelled vault and the apse, with its flat chevet, is covered by an ogival vault, as is the sacristy.
