The church at Bourg-Sainte-Marie has an ancient choir dating from the 12th century, detached and situated on private property. The present nave and chancel are offset from the original axis of the building and were rebuilt in the 19th century. The bell tower was converted in the 15th century, but retains its Romanesque base.
