The seigneury of Neuilly-l'Evêque belonged to the bishop of Langres, who established a provostry there and collected tithes. The church of Neuilly was the seat of a curacy appointed by the bishop, with Poiseul as its branch. In 1805, a tender was held for the total reconstruction of the church on the site of a former château. The estimate was drawn up by Battonot, an architect from Lange, and the ashlars were taken from Noidant and Cohons. Work was completed in 1811. The church has been listed on the Inventaire Supplémentaire des Monuments Historiques since 19 November 1990.
