The church at Lecey was the seat of a parish administered by the Chapter of Langres, with Châtenay-Vaudin as its branch. The church of the Nativity of Our Lady was rebuilt to plans by the architect Charles Godard by the architect Chaussier and the contractor Herost-Petit from Juzennecourt. Acceptance of the work took place in 1833 and the church was opened to the faithful on 21 June 1833. On 8 June 1866, Charles Godard drew up plans for the reconstruction of the upper part of the bell tower and the restoration of the church's roof structure and roofing. Acceptance of the work took place on 8 April 1868 and the work was carried out by the contractor Bachotet from Bugnières. According to Godard's estimate dated 4 May 1867, the ashlar came from Cohons or Noidant and the slates from Angers.|The church is highly prized for its ceiling, whose splendid paintings are the work of Abbé Roullet, who in 1881, and in four months, achieved this feat.
