At the side of the road stands a large stone cross, with a pedestal featuring an engraving and an inscription. The front shows the vision of Saint Hubert: the stag with a cross between its antlers and the hunter kneeling with his hunting horn and dog. On the left-hand side is this inscription:
A LA. DEVOTION OF. NICOLAS.
HUOT. LAB. AND. OF. CATHERINE.
VODUN. HIS WIFE. FOR. S.
HUBERT 1719
At the front, a console in the shape of an inverted pyramid stands out. The table that covers it bears the date 1817, probably the date of the restoration of the cross after the damage caused during the Revolution. Higher up, a capital in the form of a tablet surmounts the column. The cross at the top, the only one in Choiseul with a cylindrical cross-section, is original in that the ends of its branches are beautifully decorated with a six-petal flower. On the front, Christ is depicted in a rather naive style. On the reverse, standing on a gadrooned console, a crowned Virgin dressed in a long cloak carries the infant Jesus on her left arm. The child is naked, his torso rigid.
Choiseul currently has four crosses, three on the outskirts of the village and one in the cemetery. A fifth cross, which disappeared after the last war, stood at the junction of the Breuvannes and Merrey roads.
