CROIX GAILLARD

CROIX GAILLARD

  • photo

This commemorative cross was erected in 1794 in honour of François Gaillard, who was the miller of the village's second mill (the one you will find a little further along the road to Foulain) and Madeleine Dimey. Having had no children from his first marriage, François probably hoped to have offspring with his second wife, which would explain the presence of this devotional cross in memory of their marriage.
