At the end of the village stands this stone cross on a column and plinth.
The text engraved on the base reads "in memory of François Mongin and his wife 1864".
It would therefore appear to be a memorial cross.
Boundary crosses" are used as markers. Village entrances and exits are normally marked with a cross, but all boundaries, religious or secular, could be marked in this way.
