"Erected by the children of Messrs A. and B. Delanne. For the devotion of Cl. who died on 25 January 1845 and M.I. who also died in Verseilles on 2 September 1841. Please pray for them". There is nothing remarkable about the architecture of this cross. In the traditional place of Christ and the Virgin Mary, it features a crown and a five-pointed star. The gold crown represents divine royalty, the symbol of Christ, and the five-pointed star, also known as the Star of the Sea or Marie Stella, represents the Virgin Mary. These symbols, which were once well understood by the parishioners of Verseilles-le-Haut, are perfectly suited to this cross.
