Over 600 m2 of the museum features life-size reconstructions of scenes from life in the Middle Ages to the 19th century, accessible to the general public and all generations:
- the kitchen and stove of the Shepherd and his family in the 17th century, in the light and shade of their daily lives
- the plague doctor's dispensary during the terrible 30 Years' War
- the rudimentary rural school of the 13th century, where the magistrate and his férule reigned
- the Jules Ferry school of the late 19th century
- the cobbler's workshop of the 16th century, whose jovial laughter and hammer blows can be heard like a distant echo... and that of his 19th century descendant
- the confined space where people used to stay up all night and do needlework in the 19th century
- the cellar of a Châtillonnais winegrower from the Middle Ages to the present day
