From the street, the presence of a gate opening onto a tree-lined driveway and the prospect of a large building suggest the presence of a residence with character. Old postcards show the appearance of this château, comprising two wings and outbuildings.
During the Comtois period of the 30 Years' War (1618-1648), the castle was garrisoned by Ducerf, a captain from Langon who went to fight in the County of Burgundy. The Ten Years' War (1634-1644) was the Comtois episode of the Thirty Years' War (1618 to 1648). This war was given its name by the Comtois historian Jean Girardot de Nozeroy, who lived at the time.
