CHATEAU DE PISSELOUP

CHATEAU DE PISSELOUP

  • photo

This residence, which appears to date back to the 17th century, was the château of the Lords of Pisseloup, the de Poinctes family. It is famous for having played host on several occasions to General de Gaulle, visiting his friend, Mr Gaultier. On the street side, there is a dovecote in the form of a watchtower, built in 1879, like the entire north wing of the château. The dovecote uses a combination of brick and ashlar. Its roof is covered in slate and crowned with a ball-shaped zinc finial. The pigeons used to enter through three openings with a stone flight platform.
