Situated between Chaumont and Joinville-en-Champagne in the Marne Valley, the château was built in the 16th century by the knight Guillaume de Thélin, a native of Auvergne and secretary to Claude de Lorraine, the first Duke of Guise, Seneschal of Champagne and Lord of Joinville.

He acquired the estate when it was still a church property attached to Gorze Abbey, founded in 749 by Chrodegang, Bishop of Metz.

Remodelled in the 18th century, it has been inhabited by the same family since 1676 and is listed in the Inventaire Supplémentaire des Monuments Historiques (ISMH).

Take a look at the exterior, with its panoramic view over the park, and enjoy a guided tour of the original vaulted rooms, one of which is entirely decorated with frescoes dating back to 1578, and the 18th-century chapel.
