The current 16th-century château was built on the original 13th-century plan. It was transformed in the 18th and 19th centuries and is listed as a Historic Monument (I.M.H.).
The château is surrounded by a deep moat and extensive parkland laid out in the 19th century with beautiful trees and a water feature (also listed).
Tour the grounds around the château and visit the 16th-century rooms inside: a tower, the kitchen and, in the guard room, a model of what the château looked like in the 16th century.
Castle grounds :
Surrounding the 16th- and 18th-century château, this park is a pleasant blend of regular and landscaped features, bearing witness to a continuous creative process.
Dinteville's regular layout includes a waterway fed by the castle moat and bordered by lines of lime trees. The landscaping is arranged on either side of an English river.
The park also includes two small pavilions, a 19th-century orangery, a bee wall and a rare trellis festoon.
Guided tour of the interior every day from 23 July to 31 August from 1pm to 7pm. Last tour departs at 6.00 pm. The price of the guided tour is €5 per person. The château is also open on Heritage Days.
