On the side of the road between Frécourt and Montigny le Roi stands a small chapel dedicated to Notre-Dame de Lorette, built by Gaston de Capisuchi de Bologne, Lord of Bonnecourt, in 1680. The story goes that this lord, a cavalry captain and governor of Nogent, was taken prisoner in Strasbourg in 1677. During his 4 months in captivity, he vowed to build a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary on his lands, if she would help him to recover his health and freedom. His vow was fulfilled in 1678, and he had the chapel built on his return. Due to a lack of maintenance after the Revolution, the chapel gradually fell into ruin. It was rebuilt in 1860, on a smaller scale than its predecessor.
