The "Centre Culturel ARTEMÉUM", opening in 2019, occupies the magnificent salon of the former Caisse d'Épargne de Langres, next to Saint-Mammès Cathedral. The building, designed by the architect Charles Danne (1866-1947), replaces a former canonical house inhabited in the 16th century by the canon, composer and writer Thoinot Arbeau (Jehan Tabourot), author of Orchésographie, an important dance treatise published in 1589.
Under the direction of its founders, the composer, writer and collector Carlos Micháns, and the economist, music lover and art enthusiast Marcel Peek, Arteméum aims to carry out a range of cultural activities, of which the following is an initial overview:
- Exhibitions of pieces from the Micháns Collections.
- Exhibitions by selected artists.
- Collaborations with other cultural institutions in Langres.
