On the edge of the Bois du Cotieux, along the forestry road known as the Chemin du Plein-des-Bois, a stele was erected in memory of Sergeant Rochel. It reads: "Here Sergeant pilot Jean Rochel - 24 years old - fell during an aerial mission on 17 February 1959". The F84 fighter-bomber crashed in the woods to avoid the village.
