The Langres Diocesan Library is a cultural, encyclopaedic and documentary library. It was created in 1996 from the merger of the Grand Séminaire library and numerous bequests, both private (priests and lay people) and from various religious institutions (local congregations, the Ami du Clergé magazine, etc....). The library is now structured around three main collections:

- a religious sciences collection
- a local history collection (diocese of Langres, Haute-Marne, neighbouring regions);
- an ancient collection (manuscripts, books from the 15th to the 19th century).

The total volume is 2,400 linear metres, including monographs (90,000), periodicals (20,000) and manuscripts (750). The main themes are the Bible (220), Christian theology (230) and Church history (270).

The diocesan library also houses collections of photographs, sheet music, old maps, postcards, engravings, medals and coins.

Consultation is free. Documents may only be borrowed by members of the Association of Friends of the Langres Diocesan Library.
