Built in 1877, it is also known as the Chaudron-Rousseau Battery. It is located 1 km north of the Pointe de Diamand fort and was designed to accommodate 30 men.

It should be noted that General Boulanger was responsible for this second name. It was he who, in his decree of 21 January 1887, wanted every military building (barracks, fort, battery, etc.) to be renamed after a local military hero, if possible.
