Established in 2011, the Langres Philosophy Meetings (RPL), strictly speaking, consist of a training initiative organised by the Ministry of National Education and Youth, which forms part of the annual National Training Programme (PNF) for philosophy teachers and inspectors.
Alongside this training programme, the City of Langres and the association Autour des Rencontres philosophiques de Langres (ARPL) organise, over a period of around ten days, a wide range of cultural and intellectual events based on a theme that changes each year. It is this high-quality programme, aimed at the general public, that we call ‘Autour des Rencontres philosophiques de Langres’.
Thus, in the birthplace of Denis Diderot, around 5 October – the anniversary of his birth – a large audience of several thousand people gathers: researchers, teachers, trainers, but also, and above all, knowledgeable enthusiasts and curious spectators.
‘Autour des Rencontres philosophiques’ offers a rich, open and festive cultural programme that is accessible to all.
