Created in 2011, the Rencontres philosophiques de Langres (RPL) in the strict sense of the term is a training programme run by the Ministry of Education and Youth, as part of the annual National Training Plan (PNF) for philosophy teachers and inspectors.
Alongside this training programme, the town of Langres and the association Autour des Rencontres philosophiques de Langres - ARPL (Langres Philosophy Encounters) offer a wide range of cultural events and reflections based on a theme that is renewed each year. It is this high-quality programme, aimed at the general public, that we call "Autour des Rencontres philosophiques de Langres".
On 5 October, the anniversary of Denis Diderot's birth, the town where he was born, a large audience of several thousand people will gather: researchers, teachers, trainers, but above all enlightened amateurs and curious spectators.
Autour des Rencontres philosophiques offers a rich cultural programme that is open, festive and accessible to all.
