Blacksmithing in Farincourt dates back to 1690, with a blacksmith by the name of Veron de Farincourt. From the street, you can see the old buildings, including a beautiful dovecote. Pigeons could enter from all four sides. Located at the end of a courtyard, it complements other buildings used to keep rabbits, hens and pigs.
This complex, along with the park, was designed by Brice and Henri Michel, architects from the 19th century. For a long time, the village was brought to life by this blast furnace, where all kinds of sand-making products were produced. With the application of a steam engine, the owner kept a large part of the population busy, but the foundry closed its doors in 1981. The site is now private and is unfortunately not accessible to visitors. However, the impressive German-inspired architecture can be admired from the outside.
No tour: private site only visible from the outside.
