In the 19th century, above Brevoines and Buzon, the Langres Seminary owned several plots of land bordering the hillside for almost two kilometres. Pupils from the various schools regularly went there on Wednesday outings to play, using the "dry stone" technique to build snails, amphitheatres and the curious "Chardonville chapel".
