Aikido is a Japanese martial art created in 1929 by Master Ueshiba. Heir to the long tradition of samurai combat, aikido adds the principle of non-violence. We learn to use our opponent's strength and energy by turning it against him in order to defuse his attack and aggression. Aikido consists of a series of throwing and immobilisation techniques, without blows or fighting (no competition). Techniques can be used bare-handed or with training weapons (knife, spear and wooden sabre).
Our club is an association under the law of 1901, affiliated to the FFAB (Fédération Française d'Aïkido et de Budo). Our aim is to promote the knowledge, development and practice of aikido and to maintain the traditions of this discipline.
