A demanding trail through deep valleys, deep forests and ancient heritage:
At 23.5km and 6 hours' walk, this loop from Vaudrémont is for experienced hikers. Marked out in yellow and yellow, the route combines steep climbs, technical descents and long forest crossings. The route alternates between ridge paths, wooded valleys and farm tracks, linking several villages steeped in history, such as Maranville, Aizanville and Cirfontaines-en-Azois. Along the way, hikers will discover a series of wash-houses that bear witness to rural life in days gone by, as well as panoramic views over the Aujon valley. The trail also crosses the GR703, the historic Joan of Arc trail, and passes close to Gallo-Roman remains in Irceville. With a significant cumulative difference in altitude, this trail offers a complete immersion in the varied terrain and discreet heritage of the south of Haute-Marne. It's an ideal way to test your endurance while exploring an unspoilt area rich in history and nature.
