De Langres à Nogent

2pm: departure for the "From Langres to Nogent" cycle tour. After spending the morning on the beach at Lac de la Liez and having a picnic by the lake, I set off for the next watering hole: Lac de Charmes. After a descent along a small road typical of the Haute-Marne countryside, I cross the dyke and begin my ascent towards Changey and then Dampierre. I then continue my route through meadows and small woods to reach Nogent. There, I take a break and visit the Cutlery Museum. I then set off again to follow the road through the forest before reaching the cool waters of the canal between Champagne and Burgundy, which runs alongside the Marne (a river that rises on the plateau) and takes me quietly back to the foot of the Langroise fortress.
