A demanding route through forests and valleys:
Departing from Gudmont-Villiers, this 19km route offers a sporty hiking experience ideal for seasoned walkers. Following the GRP Marne et Rognon (marked in red and yellow), the route alternates between steep climbs, technical descents and forest passages, with the highest point being 390 m near the IGN tower. Along the way, you'll pass through the dense forest of Haute-Marne, skirt the ridges overlooking the Marne and Blaiseron valleys, then descend to Rouécourt before climbing back up to the picturesque village of Cérisières. With its rural heritage (fountains, church, dovecote) and wild landscapes, this loop, the second part of which is signposted yellow, requires a steady pace. Allow 4hrs 30mins on foot or 2hrs 30mins on mountain bike (very difficult level). The perfect way to push your limits while exploring the wide open spaces of the Haute-Marne.
