A panoramic forest loop between Froncles and Buxières:
This 12 km trail from Froncles offers a dynamic walk through dense forests, valleys and hillsides dotted with boxwood. The route climbs steadily from the Marne valley to the heights of the Bois de Froncles, with some more strenuous sections that are accessible to regular walkers. The crossing of the buxaies - boxwood bushes typical of the area - offers a unique plant atmosphere and a nice contrast with the more open sections. On the higher ground, an orientation table at the foot of a telecommunications pylon reveals an exceptional panorama of Mont Gimont, the Croix de Lorraine, Vignory and the Marne valley. The steep but well-marked descent leads back to the village. This green-yellow signposted route (approximately 3 hours on foot) combines moderate effort with a variety of landscapes and remarkable viewpoints. Ideal for those who like to combine nature, plant heritage and a beautiful escape into the forest.
