88 km of walking in the heart of the Haute-Marne :
This yellow/red signposted GR de Pays offers a challenging 88km route through a variety of landscapes: valleys, deep forests, limestone plateaux and picturesque villages. The route, which can be completed in 2 or 3 days, alternates between steep climbs, ridge sections, wooded crossings and paths along the banks of the Marne or Rognon rivers. It offers superb views of Chaumont, Colombey-les-Deux-Églises and the Suize valley. Along the way: Templar commanderies, Gallo-Roman remains, the monastery of Saint-Urbain and the wild forests of Bassigny. The route, which is sometimes technical, is ideal for walkers looking for independence, with refreshment facilities, accommodation and SNCF access (Gudmont, Donjeux). A complete experience combining physical challenge, immersion in nature and a discreet heritage. Can be done over several days or in loops (e.g. Donjeux, Château Vert, Essarts, etc.).
