Immerse yourself in the forest just outside Chaumont:
Just a few kilometres from Chaumont, the Corgebin state-owned forest offers an ideal setting for a 12km hike suitable for regular walkers. The "Puits des Bons Hommes" trail, signposted green/yellow, crosses a vast limestone plateau with a variety of deciduous trees: beech, oak, maple, lime, etc. The route winds through coppices, thickets and clearings where the local wildlife - roe deer, squirrels, sometimes deer or wild boar - can sometimes be seen. The reception areas at the Fontaine Sainte-Libère and the aire du Muguet offer shady, fun breaks with children's games and picnic tables. Allow around 3 hours' walking to get the most out of this nature loop, ideal for recharging your batteries with family or friends in a peaceful, well-maintained forest, with its legendary heritage and preserved biodiversity. This is the perfect walk, neither too short nor too long - in short, the ideal way to discover the Corgebin forest.
ATTENTION: from 9 to 27 March 2026, the ONF will be cutting down diseased trees to make the walk safer for hikers. The ONF is therefore calling for caution and vigilance.
