An intense loop through legends, deep forests and panoramic views:
This 25km circuit (5h30 on foot) from Chalindrey is a real challenge for good walkers. The route, signposted in yellow, is a series of climbs, descents, technical forest crossings and long sections of open countryside. The route takes you through the woods of Chalindrey, Culmont and Torcenay, past the ruins of the Petite Gingeolle farm, the mysterious Pont des Sorciers and the hamlet of Foultot. As an option, extend your efforts as far as the Cognelot fort, a strategic military promontory dominating the valley. The legend of the Red Devil and traces of ancient sabbats give this trail a very special atmosphere. The return journey via the Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix chapel offers a welcome heritage break before the home stretch. A challenging hike, rich in history and thrills, recommended for well-trained walkers.
