A nature and geology walk around Bricon:
This 7 km trail, starting from the church in Bricon, is perfect for a family outing combining nature, landscapes and geological curiosities. The 2-hour walk takes you through hedgerows, sunken lanes, old wine-growing hillsides and open woodland. The path climbs gently to a natural belvedere, from where you can enjoy a superb view of the village and surrounding plains. The marl slopes - the famous "terres blanches" (white earth) - are home to numerous wild orchids in spring. Young and old alike will also appreciate the wealth of wildlife: shrikes, woodpeckers and other birds of the hedgerows and coppices. The atmosphere is peaceful and the paths well-marked (blue-yellow), with a low level of difficulty. It's a great opportunity to discover the Haut-Marnais countryside in complete peace, with its lively landscapes and discreet heritage, from forgotten vineyards to unspoilt flora.
