Visite Apéro à Arc-en-Barrois : une histoire façonnée par ses richesses et grands personnages

To book

Between river and forest, Arc-en-Barrois reveals a history where natural riches have shaped destinies. Here, the Aujon, which was harnessed very early on, gave rise to activities and know-how, while the immense forest fed forges, blast furnaces, sawmills and the trades of yesteryear. But Arc is also home to a gallery of extraordinary figures: Jean I, who went on crusade with Saint-Louis; the Duc de Vitry, famous for his assassination of Concino Concini; Étienne Bouchu, a steelworker who contributed to Diderot's Encyclopédie; not forgetting Adélaïde d'Orléans, sister of King Louis-Philippe; the Prince de Joinville; and the astonishing Aurélie Picard, "Princess of the Sands"...
