Selling oneself, showing oneself, transforming oneself
Alone on stage, Simon moves in front of a screen saturated with advertising images. The slogans come thick and fast, the figures parade past, and his body absorbs them to the point of absurdity.
Then something gives way. The flow slows, words emerge. He reflects on this accumulation and its effects. Within this body, now permeated by it all, another energy emerges. Gestures shift, conventions crack, and a space opens up to change what seemed imposed.
Combining dance, spoken word and video, this is a physical and powerful solo, at the crossroads of body and image, tracing a path from subjugation to an attempt to regain control.
