Being two, without ever coming together
Jef and Marica share the stage with their two metal hoops. Nothing seems to bring them together: their bodies spin, fall, resist, and avoid one another. One seeks balance, the other causes the fall. They endlessly repeat the same attempt: to draw closer, without ever aligning.
Each movement becomes riskier, as if everything could tip over at any moment. At the centre, the Cyr wheel asserts itself as a third partner, both a meeting point and an obstacle. With no set or frills, the movement is raw and precise. Driven by a rare mastery of the Cyr wheel, the performance pushes the boundaries of balance.
What if balance were never the goal?
Spotted as part of the Quint’Est network, of which Nouveau Relax is a member, this show also made a big impression on the audience at the CIRCa festival in Auch.
