Alice, a sociology researcher, discovers she is pregnant. Luc, her husband, is over the moon. It’s going to be a boy! They’ll call him Ulysse. Except that, at one year old, Ulysse isn’t following the growth charts. Too small, too thin. The paediatricians are puzzled, and the verdict is delivered: a genetic syndrome. Ulysse won’t be like the others. But what will he be like? It’s a mystery. And so begins Ulysse’s very special odyssey: walking, talking, learning, understanding, thriving. Alice embarks on this journey, determined to ensure that Ulysse finds his place in the world.
