Le Pays de Langres en 1900 : Visites-flash à Balesmes

+ 7 date(s)

Le Pays de Langres en 1900 is an event offering visitors the chance to explore 13 "nuggets" of the region's heritage (calvaries, fountains, wash-houses, gardens, war memorials, town halls, schools, churches, chapels, monasteries, mills, farms, manor houses, castles, etc.).

There are three ways to discover these 13 villages:
- a programme of free "favourite" flash visits: lasting 1 hour, each visit comprises 3 or 4 stages (an object, a place, a detail: the guide's "favourites"...) inside (church) and outside (village) to make this discovery dynamic and original,
- a multi-site exhibition (in 8 communes) presented in the public space, accessible at all times and detailing the identity, daily life and rural habitat of each commune in the 1900s,
- a newspaper extract (distributed during the flash visits): a (fictional...) report from the (fictional...) newspaper "La Bourgogne Républicaine" by the (fictional...) journalist Louise Dubois in 1908, which describes each of the 8 communes in the form of interviews and surveys...

These flash visits are family-oriented, summery and convivial.
The guides are not (necessarily) specialists in the history and heritage of each village. They are passionate about the area in which they were born and grew up.
So don't expect them to provide a learned answer to every question you might ask.
First and foremost, they are "passers-by" who will lead your steps and your eyes to places that will change dimension as soon as you become aware of their existence, meaning and secrets. Didn't Victor Hugo say, "A building belongs to its owner, but its beauty belongs to everyone"?

Exhibition at Saints-Geosmes.

Duration of flash visits: 1 hour.
