Diseurs d'Histoires : J’entends battre mon coeur

To book

When fear reigns, what weapons do we have left to stand our ground?
A bloodthirsty king. A suffering people. A woman who chooses to speak out rather than remain silent. Inspired by the Thousand and One Nights, this production takes us in the footsteps of Scheherazade, whose tales stave off death night after night.
Through these age-old tales, Najoua Darwiche raises questions that are deeply relevant today. Behind the magic lie courage, freedom, fear, violence… and the incredible power of stories when they become an act of resistance.
A fascinating journey to the heart of a universal heritage, where stories continue to make our hearts beat.

Passing on the legacy
A Franco-Lebanese storyteller, Najoua Darwiche draws on the oral traditions of the East and West to create deeply human stories. Blending folktales, contemporary writing and personal narratives, her storytelling bridges cultures and celebrates the power of stories to resist and reinvent the world.
