For once, the ‘Capsules d’Histoire(s)’ event is moving to a new venue! Following on from the Petit-Sault Tower (currently undergoing restoration as part of the ramparts maintenance programme), two new audio clips will be played at the Longe-Porte gatehouse, at the foot of the ramparts.
The ‘Patrimoine Pays d’art et d’histoire’ heritage service, the PETR du Pays de Langres and the town of Langres are commemorating two events: the fire at Langres Town Hall in December 1892 and the capture of the Zeppelin L49 at Bourbonne-les-Bains in 1917.
Each of these events is recounted in the form of a podcast lasting a few minutes, tracing the key stages that led to the destruction of the town’s archives or which constitute one of the greatest military feats of the Great War. Created using artificial intelligence, these two programmes are based on real, verified events that have shaped the region’s history. These audio clips, each lasting a few minutes, are played on a loop inside the tollhouse.
