When her grandmother dies, a little puppet girl decides that she, at least, will never be put in a box. She grows up without giving death a second thought, then becomes a biologist and sets out to uncover the secret of an immortal jellyfish...
*La Brèche* is a poetic fable about our relationship with our own mortality. The puppet rejects the predetermined path imposed upon her, rewrites her own story and ultimately opens up a world of possibilities by accepting her true nature. Combining tender humour with visual poetry, *La Brèche* is a tiny yet universal epic, in which every movement, every breath, echoes the question of the passing of time and what we make of it.
Can we speak of the body without speaking of death? With this production, the Une tribu collective chooses to tackle this question through the puppet – that inanimate object to which we lend life and which constantly traverses the boundary between the living and the dead. Far from a theoretical approach, the artists develop a simple narrative, in which the power of the imagery and the ambivalence of the puppetry create a space for sensitive reflection.
